Heather Denniston

Heather is currently completing her Masters in Counseling Psychology at Northwestern University, where she is specializing in adult psychotherapy utilizing psychodynamic theories and motivational interviewing. Heather believes strongly in connecting the past to the present and finding practical applications to improve and enhance her client’s lives. Her guiding principles are trust, respect and client self-efficacy. Working together with her clients, Heather’s goals are to interrupt dysfunctional patterns and create new and healthier ways to cope with life’s challenges; fostering greater strength, hope and harmony. Heather has her undergraduate degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from DePaul University, where she graduated with high honors and is a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society. Heather has spent 15 years working for a variety of corporations in HR capacities. Heather has a passion for working with families as they navigate the obstacles of life. Her areas of focus include working with anxiety issues, depression, addiction, and destructive behavioral patterns. Additional areas of specialty include: executive coaching and leadership development, women’s issues, pre and post-divorce, blending families, problem solving, stress reduction, and connecting mind-body-spirit for overall health and improved quality of life.
